Eth at $500 by the end of the year?

source: ETH price prediction (medium paywall)
Ethereum price prediction 2020 Update 24.10.2020:
Eth at $500 by the end of the year?
Hello everyone, welcome to another update of my Ethereum price prediction 2020, the price of Ethereum (ETH) has recently passed the mark of 400 US dollars in the slipstream of Bitcoin (BTC). The start of Ethereum 2.0 Phase 0 is getting closer.
Although Bitcoin (BTC) recently made the jump above the $ 13,000 mark, Ethereum (ETH) has performed significantly better than Bitcoin this year. While Bitcoin has grown by more than 80% since the beginning of the year, Ethereum investors can look forward to a price increase of around 220%.
Although the daily transactions on the Ethereum Blockchain remain almost at a record level (1.2 million transactions per day), the average transaction costs have recently fallen slightly below the mark of $2.
This is still relatively high compared to the beginning of the year (transaction fees approx. 5 cents), but way better than in September. About 1 month ago, Ethereum users had to pay an average of over $10 for a transaction due to the Defi boom.
Many crypto experts pointed out the hype surrounding decentralized financial services (Defi) as the cause of the drastic increase in transaction fees.
Decentralized applications such as Uniswap (UNI), Compound (COMP), YearnFinance (YFI), CurveFinance (CRV), and Balancer (BAL) faced tough competition to accommodate transactions in blocks so that these transactions are processed relatively quickly — the result is that the network fees are exploding.
The utilization of the Ethereum Blockchain is still over 97%, with Uniswap still using the largest capacities. Nevertheless, the trading volume on Uniswap (UNI) has temporarily fallen below $200 million a day in the last few weeks, after almost $1 billion a day at the beginning of September. This should have contributed to at least a partial relief of the network.
The scaling problems are not yet solved. The Ethereum developers hope, however, with Ethereum 2.0 phase 0 and with the help of 2-layer solutions such as rollups, to get the problems under control in the next few months.
Investors reward this with rising prices.
Ethereum price prediction 2020 Summary At the moment, the chances are still good that Eth 2.0 Phase 0 can start in late November or December.
The start of Eth 2.0 does not solve all of Ethereum’s (ETH) scaling problems, but it lays the foundation for further scaling in 2021. From a market-technical point of view, things are now looking very good for Ethereum.
After a brief consolidation above the 50-day line in mid-October, Ethereum (ETH) continued its upward trend. The trend-following indicator MACD indicates further rising prices in the next few days, while the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is slowly but surely moving into the overbought area.
In the short term, Ether can run to $450 in the next few days, then the risk of a correction increases. However, In my opinion, the price of Ethereum could be by the end of the year, at $500 and more may well be possible if the start of Ethereum 2.0 succeeds on time and smoothly.

An attepmt at explaining DeFi (this week...)

Warning, long post from my mornings contemplation. See (Mark Jeffery 30 mins) for a video explaining DeFi.
This is my attempt at explaining DeFi.
I’m still learning this stuff, so any corrections are welcomed.
Links are provided for information, none are recommendations, nor referral links. Do your own research (DYOR) before investing :)
I’ll try not to shill YFI too much...
Not all platforms use the same mechanics as I describe, but I think I’ve covered the most common ones.

Stable coins
Crypro currency that is intended to maintain a level value. Normally with respect to USD $. Some rely on a trusted third party who has actual USD sitting in a bank account (USDT aka Tether, USDC…), others are trustless (DAI)

Lock collateral into the smart contract. Then DIA can be generated, and used for other things. DAI is designed to match the USD, and is completely trustless. You must have more value staked than the DAI removed (at least 150% over collateral) or you will get liquidated.

Bitcoin can not be directly used on the etherium chain. So, there are a number ways to make the value availble. Most involve trusting a 3rd party and the most common is wrapped BTC wBTC.
Notes WETH (Wrapped ETH) is used by some contracts to use ETH (direct use of ETH is not possible in some contracts) Unlinke WBTC, WETH is trustless as evrythign is done on the etherium blockchain (I think).

You deposit a valuable token onto a pool on platform, someone else borrows it. They pay interest to the pool. You get a proportion of the pools interest over time. When there is high demand for a particular token, the interest rate increases dynamically.
e.g. look at the interest rate model and click on the figure for
Borrow rates increase lineally as more of the available pool is loaned. 2% at zero and 12.5% when the pool is emptied.
Earnings are lower than the borrowing rates because: There is more in the pool than borrowed. The platform takes a cut.
e.g. 50% of the pool is borrowed, the borrower pays 7.25%, but the lenders only get 3.38%. 3.38/0.5 = 6.76%, so about 0.5% of the interest is being taken by compound.
Different pools have different interest rate functions, DAI has an inflection point to maintain a buffer
The interest rate increases slowly to 4% until 75% of the available pool is loaned out. Then it’s much more expensive to borrow e.g. 16% APR at 90% utilisation.
When lending a single token into a single pool, you should always get the (slightly ?) more of same token back.

How lending works
You deposit ETH, you are given a token back as proof of participation in the pool (cETH for
The exchange rate for cETH to ETH is NOT fixed. Rather is changes over time. As the ETH interest is paid into the pool the cETH becomes more valuable compared to the initial deposit.
e.g. you deposit 10 ETH, and get 499.52 cETH. In a months time, you repay the 499.2 cETH cETH and get 10.1 ETH back. You have just gained 1%.

In many jurisdictions, converting ETH to cETH would be classed as a taxable event (DYOR ! )

Lego Bricks
The cETH represents your ETH, so it has value. This means it can be used for other things...
Lego bricks is taken to mean that all these things fit together and you can sue them in different ways.

How borrowing works
You need to be over colarteralised to borrow from most platforms. So, if you deposit 10.0 ETH into a smart contract, you (currently) have $4,000 of collateral to work with. The platform may then let you borrow a % of your collateral in other tokens.
So, you can borrow $2,000 of USDC, to buy more 5 ETH. Then when ETH price goes up you sell $2100 back to USDC and repay the interest. Now you have 10.x ETH.
This is a form of Leverage, when the price goes up, you win. However, if the ETH price goes down, you risk being Liquidated. This means part of your collateral will be sold at the (lower) market price to repay your loan. There will likely be a penalty for you. (e.g. @ ETH = $300, 7.33 of your ETH is sold for $2,400, your USDC loan is repaid, and you keep the remaining 2.67 ETH and the 5 ETH you purchased.

Deposit $8,000 collateral, Borrow 10 ETH and sell for $400 each. If the price drops to $380, buy 10.1 ETH and repay the loan and interest. You have just made $162 profit. However, if the price goes up you will still need to buy 10.1 ETH.

Flash Loans
A technomage creates a single transaction that borrows lots of money. Then within the same single ~13 second block uses it to do lots of complex things to hopefully make a profit. As it’s all within a single block, collateral is not required.
See for a transaction that made ~46,000 USDC profit (without collateral)
If this post is introducing you to the possibilities of flash loans, you are very unlikely to ever do one in the near future.
I think Aave is the most common source for flash loans.

Simple farming lending:
Simply put you token in which ever platform offers the largest interest rate. Moving to the best option costs gas (and attention).

Complex lending farming
Some platforms offer tokens in return for using a platform, so simple APR comparisons aren’t sufficient. If the additional platform token has high value it can distort the market.
E.g. when COMP was initially offered, it was profitable to:

  1. Place collateral on
  2. Borrow BAT at 30%
  3. Lend the BAT back to the same platform at 15%
  4. Collect the COMP accrued due to interest paid and interest earned.
  5. Sell the COMP on the open market.
This technique was made less favourable by compound changing the distribution model so smaller pools (like BAT) couldn’t be exploited in this way.

Decentralised exchanges range from ones that operate with depositing assets, trading with an order book and then withdrawing, to simple interfaces that allow you to swap tokens. of the latter, the most popular is uniswap.

Liquidity provision
The swap based DEX’s rely on liquidity providers (LP). Here you deposit equal values of two tokens e.g. USDC and ETH.
Then any time someone wants to swap USDC for ETH on the exchange, they add USDC and remove ETH from the pool.
Each time someone does a swap, they pay a fee to the liquidity pool and you get a share.

Impairment loss
However, if the price of one asset goes up, the pool with stabilise to have less of it. So you see an overall increase, but not as much as if you had just hold’ed.
See for an example.
Hopefully, the fees accrued are greater than the losses.

Stable coin pairs
If you restrict yourself to similar things (e.g. USD stable coins, or different versions of BTC on Ethereum), then the impairment loss is much reduced. focuses on such like for like pools and allows multiple tokens in a single pool.

Complex farming liquidity pools
Taking advantage of governance token rewards for using certain exchanges / pools. This can be done to boot strap liquidity and / or allow a decentralisation of the governance of the DEX.
The tokes received have value because of expected future income, or governance rights (which may be exploited for future income)

Yearn is a group of smart farmer protocols that allow pooling to reduce gas costs and benefit from smart developers / contracts.
The simplest EARN take tokens / stable coins and place them in the highest yielding platform for that token.
The yCRV vault provides USD stable coin liquidity within curve for trading fees, but also lending fees via Yearn pools for each stable coin (oh and it gets CRV governance tokens…).
Other vaults use more complex strategies. The collateral is used to generate stable coins that then generate income from interest rates, Liquidity provision fees, and accrual of governance tokens. Some governance tokens are sold, others are used to optimise the rewards from other platforms.
For example, see this video on the Link Vault (Mark Jeffrey 13 mins).
I expect the ETH vault may be similar, but may include Maker to generate the stable coins (rather than borrowing on Aave).
This video is a good intro on curve / yearn products (DeFIDad 31 mins)
All of these steps can be done by yourself, however, gas costs would be significant unless you have a large amount invested. Yearn, and vaults pay fees to the YFI protocol.

YFI is the token for yearn. There are only 30,000 issued. So, you can not earn them, you can:
1) Stake them for governance rewards
2) place in a yYFI vauly to gain more FYI
3) Use them as long term Ventrue capital funds within a DAO (coming soon (tm) ).

Forks of the YFI with different tokens / fees.

YAM, Sushi, YFII, etc.
To be completed…

To be completed...

This is not financial advice.
There are multiple risks which get larger as more moving parts are added.
Errors and omissions expected.
Do you own research.
Comments and corrections welcomed

Why is it worthy to invest not only in bitcoin. 13 alternatives.

Why is it worthy to invest not only in bitcoin. 13 alternatives.

Why is it worthy to invest not only in bitcoin. 13 alternatives.
In 2020, investing in BTC brought its holders several times less profit than buying altcoins. Some of them have risen in price by thousands of percent. Analysts told which cryptocurrencies remain undervalued and retain great potential for price growth
In 2020, Bitcoin remains a symbol of the cryptocurrency market, but it is not a leader in terms of profitability. BTC has risen 46% since January, significantly weaker than most other coins. For example, Ethereum added 170% of its value over the same period. The key reason for this growth was the expectation of updating the ETH blockchain to the second version, which will introduce the possibility of passively increasing the number of coins by staking.
Since the beginning of the year, the Binance exchange token (BNB) has also shown significant growth — 100%. One of the drivers of the coin’s rise in price was its entry into the decentralized finance (DeFi) market. The trading platform also provided customers with the opportunity to make deposits in cryptocurrency in order to receive rewards in other coins. At the moment, the annual profitability from the use of this product reached 1200%, but later the rate dropped significantly.
The largest growth in 2020 was shown by assets related to the DeFi sector directly. For example, the Chainlink token rate has grown by 450% since January, to $10, in August, rising to $20. A similar dynamic was demonstrated by the BAND coin. Over the same period, its rate rose by 2900%, from $0.22 to $6.6, briefly reaching $17.6. Both projects provide oracles — products that allow you to track cryptocurrency rates with decentralized applications.
The growth of thousands of percent was shown by the tokens of DeFi sites. The leader in terms of profitability in this area is the token of the Yearn Finance platform (YFI). It was released on July 18 and was trading at $ 32 at the time. Now the asset is worth almost 100,000% more, $32,400, and in mid-September the price peaked at $44,000.
There is a “whole palette” of tools in which you can invest instead of bitcoin, the founder of the stable cryptocurrency platform STASIS Grigory Klumov is sure. As an example, he cited the NEO token, on the blockchain of which its own DeFi platform will soon be launched. Another option is YFI coin. Both assets have an average degree of risk, the investor should take into account that their price can fall by up to 50%.
Klumov named Balancer (BAL), Synthetix (SNX), REN (REN), Curve (CRV) and Aave (LEND) from the high-risk, but interesting from the point of view of investing, DeFi tokens. Their rate is quite volatile, but in September it corrected and now has good prospects.
In exchange for bitcoin with medium-term goals, you can invest in altcoins that are in the top cryptocurrency rating by capitalization, says Dmitry Lavrov, trader and founder of Tradunity. Fluctuations in their price will depend on bitcoin, if it enters the growth phase again, altoins will also rise in price and bring even greater profitability.
“Ethereum is the first altcoin to be added to an investment portfolio. The coin has corrected its past upward movement and is poised for a return to 2020 highs and possibly a refresh. The coin looks strong in terms of technical and fundamental analysis. Also of interest are Binance Coin, EOS, they are at acceptable levels for opening long positions”, Lavrov shared.
On the horizon of the next year, representatives of the TOP-30 of the crypto market are interesting altcoins for investment, said Viktor Pershikov, a leading analyst at 8848 Invest. For example, Ethereum. The transition to version 2.0 and the development of the Proof-of-Stake protocol will allow the price to rise significantly. Also, the driver of its growth may be the development of the DeFi sector, related to which applications are mainly built on the basis of ETH.

Can Bitcoin Cash Participate in the Defi Deposit Farming

As decentralized finance started a wave of liquid providing to get an annual yield of more than 100% interest returning, how could Bitcoin Cash participate in the investing while few swaps supported bch tokens and pairings?
An idea came to my mind from the lending platform. Liquid provider deposit stable coin like USDT, USDC into the liquid pool to gain the platform token, while Curve uses the swap token to deposit in their own pool to get CRV, that is how you gain the interest from depositing USDT from the first place. However there is few swap or pool that could deposit or swap BCH directly, we need to find a way to convert BCH to USDT without causing value lost while the BCH-USDT price goes up.
A simple way to solve it is to find a lending platform to deposit BCH and borrow 60-65% amount of USDT, at the same time short BCH to hedge the risk of price dropping to avoid the margin call, at the same time invest USDT into the liquid pool to gain your good profit.
A few tips:
  1. The lending platform should support short-term lending, since you don't know how long Defi wave would last
  2. Sell the Defi token ex. crv, sushi as soon as it is farmed
  3. Gas fee is comparatively high, this way is not friendly to small investor

Placing Your Crypto Eggs in Every Basket: Everything You Need to Know About Yield Farming in 2020

Placing Your Crypto Eggs in Every Basket: Everything You Need to Know About Yield Farming in 2020
One of the most prominent reasons people invest in cryptocurrencies is that it is a hedge. It has been proven with some clarity that the asset class operates independently of traditional markets. A lot of established investors and firms have invested in the market just to diversify their portfolio, the most recent being MicroStrategy, which invested $250 million in Bitcoin and other assets.
But even within the cryptocurrency asset class, there are several ways in which one can diversify their income. In some ways, it may even be better than other assets classes, as it can be tokenized in digital form. There are challenges too, most notably, a high barrier of entry for the non-tech-savvy.
We’ll get to the ‘how’ in a bit. Let’s turn our attention back to the ‘why’.
Cryptocurrencies provide many ways in which to diversify your portfolio but one of the best ways is with passive income options, of which there are several. The most talked about option is easily Decentralized Finance (DeFi), which will be the subject of our discussion today.
It’s important to know how the service works in order to make the most out of it. Unfortunately, there are many out there seeking to capitalize on the mania and make quick a buck — but that’ll never happen.
The purpose of this piece is to help you position yourself for passive income maximization with DeFi and possibly even make a decent profit. The time frame you are looking at is months, not days, so don’t get hasty. The best value comes from long-term investments.
The QDeFi team is here to make everything easy for you.
What is DeFi and Yield Farming?
The chances are, you have heard of DeFi. Given the buzz, it’s been hitting the headlines and is even being talked about in mainstream finance. So there is a good probability that you know about this rapidly developing niche in the cryptocurrency space.
Even if the practical aspect of investing is a little technical, the concept itself is fairly simple.
DeFi is simply various financial services (like lending and borrowing) that are completely decentralized. There is no middleman involved in the process of lending or trading, meaning that there is no centralized entity to take a cut or slow down the process. Everything happens between the two concerned parties, which results in greater security and faster transactions.
How is this done, you might ask. Mostly through smart contracts and other technologies that take care of dispute resolutions to ensure disagreements are settled fairly. Governance by all of the asset holders also means that the terms of the services can be adjusted, according to their liking and not by some centralized party charging rates to benefit themselves.
But perhaps the most salient feature of DeFi is that anyone can easily participate. You don’t need to go through a lengthy process just to be eligible and you don’t need to have extensive documentation either.
Since this is a new space with evolving technology, the tricky part is making your first investments, which can be challenging. This is true for all cryptocurrency activities but doubly so for such a recent thing as DeFi.
The issue can boil down to user-friendliness. Most DeFi protocols and platforms are not user-friendly at the moment, leaving participation accessible only to those who possess some technical knowledge. But that’s why we’re writing this — so you can begin your foray into DeFi following this a step by step guide without having to worry about making a mistake.
But before that, we’ll have to learn a little about yield farming.
What is Yield Farming in detail ?
Ifyou’re going to invest in something, you’re going to want to choose something to invest in. And any investor in the market will tell you that yield farming is where it’s at.
Strange name, you might think, but cryptocurrencies are no strangers to terms like this (“mining” for example). And the phrase is pretty self-explanatory. Investors simply use their existing assets/collateral on certain platforms, providing liquidity and generating revenue for their contribution.
This may all sound confusing, but let’s break it down (we’ll go through specific examples shortly as well).
In a nutshell, yield farming is simply letting idle assets generate revenue by making them useful to others. The hot topic right now is liquidity pools, which is where you contribute to an asset’s liquidity by providing it to a liquidity pool on a platform like Uniswap.
But the real trick is knowing how to find the synergies between the various DeFi services, i.e. forming a yield farming strategy. As another example, you can borrow a stake on a platform and use that to contribute to a liquidity pool and earn fees. These are the yield farming strategies that some individuals are very adept at forming.
Compound this with governance tokens that platforms release and you have a pretty nifty way of earning tokens, which could potentially reach a high value in the medium to long term. That’s why investors have been rushing towards DeFi.
Now we get to the most exciting part of learning about yield farming — what are the best performing protocols and how much can we realistically make?
Some of the most notable choices for yield farming protocols and platforms are the following:
  • Ampleforth (AMPL)
  • Compound (COMP)
  • YFI (YFI)
  • Balancer (BAL)
  • Curve (CRV)
If you’ve paid any attention to financial news, then you know these are the ones that have made the highest gains for investors. YFI even temporarily held a 1000% APY for its investors, though such unrealistic gains are no longer the norm. Gains have varied but it’s not uncommon to hear gains in the double digits.
We’ve mentioned different types of protocols because rates may vary and it does take some constant supervision of the market to know where the best rates lie. The aforementioned projects are only some of the choices you have for yield farming, but they are among the better ones because they have avoided catastrophic incidents so far.
Going over the particulars of each protocol is out of the scope of this guide but we’ll use some of them to run you through your first DeFi investment. From there, you should be able to manage on your own and use the plentiful resources of the internet to refine your strategies.

DeFi Glossary - Draft glossary for yEarn Documentation

Hey everyone. I'm one of the many yEarn community volunteers. Besides doing volunteer Tier 1 tech support here at this early stage, I'm also one of the volunteer technical writeengineers for this community project. I write SOPs and procedures as one of my engineer hats at my day job.
This should be helpful for newbies. It's a WIP and a first draft, but I would also appreciate feedback on the current list, and suggestions on new terms that should be included on what we're hoping will be a definitive glossary and reference for the DeFi space.
Algorithm - A set of instructions that follow predetermined commands and rules. Computer algorithms can operate at near lightspeed and have massive speed advantages over manual methods.
Blockchain - An immutable permanent public record or ledger of all transactions during the history of a cryptocurrency coin or token.
Cryptocurrency - A form of digital currency that is protected by powerful encryption algorithms that is represented as a digital coin or token. Cryptocurrency coins are programmed to have a minting, release, reward and distribution system, governance system, and ability to make future changes. These digital coins or tokens include a ledger or blockchain record of all transactions that occur on their respective networks.
DeFi - Decentralized Finance is at its root a set of smart contracts running independently on blockchains such as the Ethereum network, that may or may not interact with other smart contracts and even other blockchains. The goal of DeFi is to enhance the profitability of investors in DeFi systems and networks through the use of automated smart contracts which seek to optimize yields for invested funds.
Ethereum - Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency but Ethereum, which came later, allows for much more complexity through the use of smart contracts. It is what is called an ERC20 coin, and it has a large number of cryptocurrency coins such as LINK, CRV and YFI that have used this protocol and set of rules to launch their own cryptocurrency coins on the Ethereum network.
Fair Launch - TBD
Financial Primitive - A cryptocurrency based financial generic building block. Financial Primitives are designed to efficiently and reliably perform one task. Financial Primitives may be combined to create smart contracts. These smart contract may even be stacked upon one another in order to implement financial trading strategies.
Insurance Primitive - A term coined by YFI Developer Andre Cronje, this is a tokenized form of insurance represented as yInsure-type tokens. The token itself provides opportunities for investors to be able to provide crypto insurance to any base asset. Andre states: "The design of this system allows any asset that has a financial primitive to be insured, be it a base asset such as DAI, or a composite asset such as aDAI or yDAI." Investors of yInsure provide Liquidity to be used to execute crypto insurance smart contracts. In return, investors hope to provide an insurance service and profit from this service.
Lending Aggregator - A program or set of smart contracts that algorithmically and automatically seeks and chases the best lending rates for depositors to loan out for their coins for a profit.
Primitive - A generic building block.
ROI - Return On Investment. The gains or losses on an investment. For example, doubling your investment worth would be a 100% gain. Losing all of your investment would be a 100% loss. The latter is not recommended and should be avoided at all costs.
Smart Contract - (working on this next)
yEarn - A programatically adjusted lending aggregator. It is also a shorthand name for the yEarn Finance ecosystem.
YFI - The governance token for the yEarn Finance ecosystem and suite of tools. YFI was the first Fair Launch token, meaning that there was no Founder, Venture Capitalist or early investor pre-mining program to privately claim a portion of a coin's supply. YFI was Fair Launched on July 20, 2020 with an intial price of $34.53, according to Coingecko.
yVault - A programatically adjusted lending aggregator, arbitrageur, and optimized yield farmer. yEarn smart contracts are considered simpler and lower risk than their yVault cousins. In comparison, yVault smart contracts are considered more complex and higher risk, but in return they tend to yield higher Returns On Investment.
...lots more to come. I'd love to hear some suggestions about what other terms should be included. Mahalo!

The best Defi projects in 2020 you should invest in

The best Defi projects in 2020 you should invest in
In 2020, many Defi projects are introduced to the crypto community. Below is the top 5 Defi projects that you should invest in.
YFValue (YFV)
One of the best rated Defi projects is YFVaule (YFV). YFV is a YEarn-inspired governance token that rewards investors. The project aims to bring real value in profitable farming finance (Yield Farming) to all users, whether you are whales or baby fish. Supply inflation rate voting and a referral system with automatic burning are performed entirely online.
Compound Finance (COMP)
Compound Finance was one of the first projects to shift the focus of investors away from Bitcoin to profitable farming. By lending digital assets through the Compound's liquidity pool, investors immediately began earning compound interest.
Yearn Finance (YFI)
With a circulating supply of 29,961 YFI, Yearn Finance has exploded cryptocurrency. Due to demand, the value of YFI has skyrocketed compared with Bitcoin's current value of around $ 12,000. At the time of writing, YFI is trading at $ 13,797 after hitting an all-time high of $ 16,700.
Yam Finance (YAM)
Yam Finance's story has a few similarities with DogeCoin in the sense that the project was launched as an experiment. The creators of Yam Finance even warned investors that its code was still unaudited but by the time YAM had first glitched, more than $ 477 million had been locked on the Defi platform.
Curve Finance (CRV)
Like Compound, Curve Finance gained prominence in Q3 2020. At the time of writing, around $ 1 billion in assets are locked in the platform. Launched in January 2020, Curve allows users to trade between stablecoins with minimal slippage and low fees.

The best DApps, which will likely lead the next phase.

The best DApps, which will likely lead the next phase.
Author: Gamals Ahmed, Business Ambassador
One of the key themes in 2020 is the rise of decentralized financing (DeFi), a new type of financing that works on decentralized protocols and without the need for financial intermediaries. Lately, the number of DeFi apps has increased significantly, but many have not been seen or heard by many of us.
In this Article I will be building a list of the best DApps, which will likely lead the next phase. DeFi apps can be categorized into different subcategories such as:
  • Finance
  • Exchange
  • Insurance
  • Gambling
  • Social
And much more…
Note: Some of the projects in the report categorized into more than one section in the types of dApps.
The rise of DeFi Bitcoin (BTC) was the first implementation of decentralized financing. It enabled individuals to conduct financial transactions with other individuals without the need for a financial intermediary in the digital age. Bitcoin and similar cryptocurrencies were the first wave of DeFi. The second wave of DeFi was enabled by Ethereum blockchain which added another layer of programmability to the blockchain. Now, at the beginning of 2020, individuals and companies can borrow, lend, trade, invest, exchange and store crypto assets in an unreliable way. In 2020, we can expect the amount of money held in lending protocols to increase as long-term investors diversify into interest-bearing offers, especially if the market fails to rise towards the 2017/18 highs. On the other hand, active crypto traders are becoming increasingly interested in decentralized trading offers. The increasing level of money security offered by decentralized trading platforms should not only see an increase in trading of DApp users, but also in the number of non-custodial trading and exchange platforms available.
Lending: DeFi allows anyone to obtain or provide a loan without third party approval. The vast majority of lending products use common cryptocurrencies such as Ether ($ ETH) to secure outstanding loans through over-collateral. Thanks to the emergence of smart contracts, maintenance margins and interest rates can be programmed directly into a borrowing agreement with liquidations occurring automatically if the account balance falls below the specified collateral. The relative benefit gained from supplying different cryptocurrencies is different for the asset and the underlying platform used.

Compound is a money market protocol on the Ethereum blockchain — allowing individuals, institutions, and applications to frictionlessly earn interest on or borrow cryptographic assets without having to negotiate with a counterparty or peer. Each market has a dynamic borrowing interest rate, which floats in real-time as market conditions adjust. Compound focuses on allowing borrowers to take out loans and lenders to provide loans by locking their crypto assets into the protocol. The interest rates paid and received by borrowers and lenders are determined by the supply and demand of each crypto asset. Interest rates are generated with every block mined. Loans can be paid back and locked assets can be withdrawn at any time. While DeFi may seem overwhelming complex to the average individual, Compound prides itself on building a product that is digestible for users of all backgrounds. Compound is a protocol on the Ethereum blockchain that establishes money markets, which are pools of assets with algorithmically derived interest rates, based on the supply and demand for the asset. Suppliers (and borrowers) of an asset interact directly with the protocol, earning (and paying) a floating interest rate, without having to negotiate terms such as maturity, interest rate, or collateral with a peer or counterparty. Built on top of that principle is cTokens, Compound’s native token that allows users to earn interest on their money while also being able to transfer, trade, and use that money in other applications. OVERVIEW ABOUT COMPOUND PROTOCOL Compound Finance is a San Francisco based company, which raised an $8.2 M seed round in May of 2018, and a $25M Series A round in November of 2019. Financing rounds were lead by industry giants including but not limited to Andressen Horowitz, Polychain Capital, Coinbase Ventures and Bain Capital Ventures, Compound Finance is a sector-leading lending protocol enabling users to lend and borrow popular cryptocurrencies like Ether, Dai and Tether. Compound leverages audited smart contracts responsible for the storage, management, and facilitation of all pooled capital. Users connect to Compound through web3 wallets like MetaMask with all positions being tracked using interest-earning tokens called cTokens.
Compound recently introduced a governance token — COMP. It holds no economic benefits and is solely used to vote on protocol proposals. The distribution of COMP has absolutely exceeded expectations on all fronts. Compound is now the leading DeFi protocol both in terms of Total Value Locked and in terms of COMP’s marketcap relative to other DeFi tokens. COMP was recently listed on Coinbase — the leading US cryptocurrency exchange and has seen strong interest from dozens of other exchanges including futures platforms like FTX. Compound’s new governance system is well underway, with close to close to 10 proposals being passed since it’s launch. What’s unique about COMP’s governance model is that tokenholders can delegate their tokens to an address of their choice. Only those who hold more than 1% of the supply can make new proposals. Besides earning interest on your crypto assets, which is a straightforward process of depositing crypto assets on the platform and receiving cTokens, you can also borrow crypto on Compound. Borrowing crypto assets has the added step of making sure the value of your collateral stays above a minimum amount relative to your loan. Compound and DeFi more broadly wants to help people have more access and control over the money they earn and save. While the project has had its criticisms, the long-term goal of Compound has always been to become fully decentralized over time. The Compound team currently manages the protocol, but they plan to eventually transfer all authority over to a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) governed by the Compound community. For following the project:
DEXs: Decentralized exchanges allow users to switch their assets without the need to transfer custody of basic collateral. DEXs aim to provide unreliable and interoperable trading across a wide range of trading pairs.

Kyber is a blockchain-based liquidity protocol that allows decentralized token swaps to be integrated into any application, enabling value exchange to be performed seamlessly between all parties in the ecosystem. Using this protocol, developers can build innovative payment flows and applications, including instant token swap services, ERC20 payments, and financial DApps helping to build a world where any token is usable anywhere. Kyber’s ecosystem is growing rapidly. In about a month, the team got an investment and partnered with some of the best projects. ParaFi Capital, a blockchain-focused investment company, has made a strategic purchase of KNC codes. The company will assist the DeFi project by qualifying new clients and improving professional market manufacture. The project’s recent partnerships seem impressive. Includes Chainlink, Chicago DeFi Alliance, and Digifox Wallet.
An important DeFi integration was also made with MakerDAO. KNC can now be used as a DAI warranty. The project has reached a milestone worth $ 1 billion of total turnover since its inception. More importantly, volume on an annual basis is moving and accelerating from $ 70 million in the first year to more than $ 600 million in 2020. Recently five million KNC (about 2.4% of total supply) were burned, improving Kyber’s supply and demand ratio. In July, the Kyber network witnessed a Katalyst upgrade that will improve governance, signature, delegation and structural improvements.
When Katalyst hits the main network, users will be able to either vote directly or delegate tokens to shareholder groups led by either companies like Stake Capital or community members. The KNC used to vote is burned, and in turn, voters get ETH as a reward. This setting creates a model for staking an uncommon contraction for the Kyber network. KyberDAO will facilitate chain governance, like many other projects based on Ethereum. An interesting partnership with xToken has been set up to help less-participating users stake out via xKNC. xKNC automatically makes specific voting decisions, making it easier for users to join and enjoy the return. The pool was created to draw BTC to Curve. Users who do this are eligible for returns in SNX, REN, CRV, and BAL. The more BTC lock on Synthetix, the more liquid it becomes, and the more attractive it is for traders. The project plans to continue expanding its products and move towards more decentralization. Synthetix futures are scheduled to appear on the exchange within a few months. The initial leverage is expected to be 10 to 20 times. The team aims to neglect its central oracle and replace it with one from Chainlink during the second stage of the migration. This will significantly increase the decentralization and flexibility of the platform. For following the project:
Derivatives: In traditional finance, a derivative represents a contract where the value is derived from an agreement based on the performance of an underlying asset. There are four main types of derivative contracts: futures, forwards, options, and swaps.

Synthetix is a decentralized artificial asset issuance protocol based on Ethereum. These synthetic assets are guaranteed by the Synthetix Network (SNX) code which enables, upon conclusion of the contract, the release of Synths. This combined collateral model allows users to make transfers between Compound directly with the smart contract, avoiding the need for counterparties. This mechanism solves DEX’s liquidity and sliding issues. Synthetix currently supports artificial banknotes, cryptocurrencies (long and short) and commodities.
SNX holders are encouraged to share their tokens as part of their proportionate percentage of activity fees are paid on Synthetix.Exchange, based on their contribution to the network. It contains three DApp applications for trading, signature and analysis: Exchange (Synths at no cost). Mintr (SNX lock for tuning and fee collection). Synthetix Network Token is a great platform in the ethereum ecosystem that leverages blockchain technology to help bridge the gap between the often mysterious cryptocurrency world and the more realistic world of traditional assets. That is, on the Synthetix network, there are Synths, which are artificial assets that provide exposure to assets such as gold, bitcoin, US dollars, and various stocks such as Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) and Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL). The whole idea of these artificial assets is to create shared assets where users benefit from exposure to the assets, without actually owning the asset.
It is a very unique idea, and a promising project in the ethereum landscape. Since it helps bridge the gap between cryptocurrencies and traditional assets, it creates a level of familiarity and value that is often lost in the assets of other digital currencies. This will make Synthetix take his seat in the next stage. On June 15, BitGo announced support for SNX and on June 19, Synthetix announced via blog post that Synthetix, Curve, and Ren “collaborated to launch a new stimulus group to provide liquidity for premium bitcoin on Ethereum”, and said the goal was to “create the most liquid Ethereum — the BTC-based suite available to provide traders with the lowest slippage” In trade between sBTC, renBTC and WBTC. “ For following the project:
Wallets: Wallets are a crucial gateway for interacting with DeFi products. While they commonly vary in their underlying product and asset support, across the board we’ve seen drastic improvements in usability and access thanks to the growing DeFi narrative.

It is the startup for consumer game-changing financial technology, which makes decentralized web access safer and easier. The company has built a smart and easy-to-use mobile wallet for Ethereum, which gives users the ability to easily retrieve their encrypted currencies on the go.
Argent Benefits:
  • Only you control your assets
  • Explore DeFi with one click
  • Easily retrieve and close your wallet
  • The wallet pays gas for in-app features, for example Compound and Maker
The Argent crypto wallet simplifies the process without sacrificing security. It is a type of wallet that allows you to keep cryptographic keys while keeping things simple. The Argent wallet is secured by something called the Guardians. If you lose your phone (and your Argent wallet), just contact your guardians to confirm your identity. Then you can get all your money back on another device. It is a simple and intuitive method that can make cryptocurrency manipulation easier to do without experience. Argent is focused on the Ethereum blockchain and plans to support everything Ethereum has to offer. Of course, you can send and receive ETH. The startup wants to hide the complexity on this front, as it covers transaction fees (gas) for you and gives you usernames. This way, you don’t have to set a transaction fee to make sure it expires. Insurance cooperative Nexus Mutual and Argent Portfolio Provider are planning to offer a range of smart and insurance contracts to keep Argent user money safe from hackers. First, the smart contract is designed to prevent thieves from draining the wallet by temporarily freezing transfers above the daily spending limit for addresses not listed in the user’s whitelist. The user has 24 hours to cancel the frozen transfer — very similar to the bank’s intervention and prevent fraud on the card or similar suspicious activities in the account. By contrast, the default coding state is closer to criticism: once it disappears, it disappears. “We are thinking not only of crypto users but also new users — so the ultimate goal is to duplicate what they get from their bank,” said Itamar Lisuis, one of the founders of Argent. For following the project:
Asset Management: With such a vast amount of DeFi products, it’s crucial that tools are in place to better track and manage assets. In line with the permissionless nature of the wider DeFi ecosystem, these assets management projects provide users with the ability to seamlessly track their balances across various tokens, products and services in an intuitive fashion.

It is a smart wallet for DeFi that allows users to seamlessly manage multiple DeFi applications to maximize returns across different protocols in a fraction of the time. With InstaDapp, users can take advantage of industry-leading projects like Compound, MakerDAO and Uniswap in one easy-to-use portal. Instadapp currently supports dapps MakerDAO and Compound DeFi, allowing users to add collateral, borrow, redeem and redeem their collateral on each dapp, as well as refinance debt positions between the two. In addition to its ease of use, InstaDapp also adds additional benefits and use cases for supported projects that are not already supported. The project focuses on making DeFi easier for non-technical users by maintaining a decentralized spirit while stripping many of the confusing terms that many products bring with them.
InstaDapp has launched a one-click and one-transaction solution that allows users to quadruple the COMP Codes they can earn from using quadruple borrowing and lending. A good timing feature for sure, but this kind of simplification is exactly why Instadapp was created. Its goal is to create a simple interface into multiple DeFi applications running on the Ethereum Blockchain and then automate complex interactions in a way that enables users to maximize their profits while reducing transactions and Ethereum gas charges. To use Instadapp you will need Ethereum wallet and you will also have to create what is called Instadapp smart wallet in which token you want to use. For following the project:
Savings: There are a select few DeFi projects which offer unique and novel ways to earn a return by saving cryptocurrencies. This differs from lending as there is no borrower on the other side of the table.

Dharma is an easy-to-use layer above the compound protocol. It introduces new and non-technical users to transaction encryption and allows them to easily borrow or lend in DeFi markets and earn interest in stable currencies. You can start by simply using a debit card. Funds are kept in a non-portfolio portfolio, which constantly earns interest on all of your deposited assets. The value of Dharma’s DeFi lending experience is:
  • Easy entry.
  • Simple wallet.
  • High protection.
  • Depositing and withdrawing banknotes.
Dharma, the prominent DeFi cryptobank bank, has made it extremely easy to bring any Twitter user into the crypto world. Dharma users can send money from the Dharma app by searching for any Twitter handle, setting the required amount, and clicking on one button. The Twitter Dharma Bot account can send a unique notification with a link to download the Dharma mobile app. Senders are encouraged to retweet the notification to ensure that the receiver does not lose it.
To raise money, recipients simply download the Dharma app. After creating a Dharma account, users connect their Twitter account to receive access to the money sent. They can choose to transfer money to US dollars and withdraw to a bank account, or leave DAI in a Dharma account where it will earn interest like all Dharma deposits. The submitted DAI will gain interest even before the receiving user requests it while waiting for the claim. In her ad, Dharma demonstrated a number of ways in which the new social payments feature can be used, including tips for your favorite Twitter personalities, accepting payments for goods or services in a very clear way, charitable donations across borders or transfer payments. The Dharma app is available for both Android and iOS. Dharma and Compound
Dharma generates interest by DAI signing the Compound Protocol. Dharma also appeared in the news recently after the release of a specification outlining a Layer 2 expansion solution allowing the platform to expand to handle current transaction volume 10x, ensuring users can transfer their money quickly even in times of heavy congestion on the Ethereum network. Dharma is developing its “core” and “underwriting” contracts within the company. Underwriting contracts are open source and non-custodian, while each loan contract is closed source. This means that the receiving address contains nodes that interact with a script on a central Dharma server. For following the project:
Insurance: Decentralized insurance protocols allow users to take out policies on smart contracts, funds, or any other cryptocurrencies through pooled funds and reserves.

Nexus Mutual

Nexus Mutual uses blockchain technology to return mutual values to insurance by creating consistent incentives with the smart contract symbol on the Ethereum blockchain. It is built on the Ethchaum blockchain and uses a modular system to aggregate smart Ethereum nodes, allowing to upgrade the system’s logical components without affecting other components.
The way Nexus works is members of the mutual association by purchasing NXM codes that allow them to participate in the decentralized independent organization (DAO). All decisions are voted on by members, who are motivated to pay real claims. It sees plenty of opportunities in a gradual transition of Ethereum to Eth 2.0, which is expected to start later this year. Eth 2.0 moves the network from the power-hungry Proof-of-Consensus (PoW) algorithm to Proof-of-Stake (PoS), a way to sign cryptocurrency in order to keep the network afloat. Having a steady return on signature from the Ether (ETH) can be somewhat compared to the way in which insurance companies invest in the real world the premiums they collect.
By setting a strong set of conditions for Nexus Mutual, anyone will be able to bring in and acquire a new form of risk for mutual coverage — assuming that members are willing to share NXM. With this design, the mutual discretion will be able to expand into much broader fields beyond smart contracts. In addition to defining multi-layered term agreements, Nexus Mutual also has some other advantages needed to achieve this visualization. For following the project:

Can a psychic remote view emotions and thoughts? my experiment.

Hi, i am fascinated by all paranormal skills, and remote viewing is the first time in human history in which we have scientifically tested in a larger scale and proved that the claims related to clairvoyance, astral projection, third eye are possible.
I personally consider that a psychic and a remote viewer use the same skillset. In this case as a target i tested a psychic asking for him to read my emotions in different times. Check the results of my experiment below:
I have done other experiments with telepathy, communication with spirit, reading minds, that i will be posting soon.

TIFU by buying a used car and returning thousands of dollars of stolen goods to a rich prick

So this happned a few months ago
A good friend of mine brother was about to be send off to rehab so he no longer needed a car.
I talk to his patents and they agree to sell me the car for only 400$ because I'm a family friend.
It was in pretty rough shape but ran good.
I figured I could fix a few things and make some good money on it.
So I get the car home and start cleaning it. It was one of the most discussing cars I've ever seen but a few hours later it's looking pretty good.
Then I notice that the tire is flat so I inflate it check back a few hours later to see if it's holding air and it's not.
So this being a older honda crv It has a full sized spare on the back with a new tire so I'll just swap it out but my jack can't lift the car high enough because it was a higher suv.
So I go into the trunk and lift up the carpet that has the Jack in it. And I just find a huge black garbage bag.
I open the bag and find a the newest macbook pro top model with the biggest screen, a xbox one x a few bluetooth speakers and some beats headphones.
I was shoked and didn't know what to do. So I load up the laptop and see a name that looks familiar. I go on Facebook and search it and it was a guy that went to my highschool that graduated a few years before me.
I do some stalking on Facebook and see this guy is legit a millionaire or close to it. He has his own company and post screen shots of hundred of thousands invested in stocks and bitcoin and huge commission checks, not to mention his 3 super fancy 60k plus cars.
So me being a nice guy and doing the right thing I send him a message thinking you know maybe he'll be grateful I didn't pawn all his stuff and he'll give me a reward or somthing since he seems to be super wealthy.
Now I didn't wanna get my friends brother in even more trouble then he already was dealing with so I sent a message "hey bought a used car found your laptop and some other things I'll return them to you if you wanna meet up"
He ofc is fast to answer comes over and retrieves all his stuff, pulling up in a brand new Mercedes.
He tells ne somone broke in and stole all this stuff and also took his keys to a ford raptor ( I'm guessing they were planning on literally stealing his truck which btw raptors are like 70k+)
He also tells me there is a open investigation. And ask where I got the car.
I said look man got it from a friends brother, I don't wanna cause any issues with my friend so just take back you're stuff and I hope we can call it even.
The dude says ok. Does not even say thank you then drives off in his car with all the stuff, plus his truck keys which could have been stolen.
Then the next day I have a detective showing up at my house and asking me 500 questions and actually makes me go down to the station treating me like I'm a criminal thinking I did it.
Long story short, I got no thank you, no reward, was treated like a criminal, had to go to the police station multiple times and ultimately had to turn my friends brother in and he got charged.
Oh I only made $400 on the car to btw.
TL;DR by buying a used car, finding thousands of dollars of stolen electronics in the trunk returning it to a millionaire, who didn't even thank me, then being treated like a criminal and losing a friend.

Take a Look at the Most Promising Startups of the Year

Forbes released a cool ranking of the most successful startups, noting that they could soon reach values of about $ 1 billion. Let's meet the possible future billionaires:
The startup created a research software in the field of cryptocurrencies, which can shed light on how people use bitcoins, ethereum, lightcoins and other digital money. Financial institutions use this technology to test customers and comply with regulatory requirements to prevent money laundering. Government agencies, such as the U.S. Internal Revenue Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation can use it to identify illegal transactions and find out about potential perpetrators.
Before joining the team and founding Chainalysis, 49-year-old CEO Michael Gronager co-founded the Kraken cryptocurrency exchange, and 47-year-old technical director Jan Moller developed a "virtual wallet" for the "Mycelium" cryptocurrency.
In 2010, 52-year-old Jeff Williams began developing a program to automate software security monitoring. In 2014, together with Arshan Dabirsiagi, he founded the company "Contrast Security" in Los Altos (California). The technology they developed verifies the running code of mobile applications and notifies developers of potential vulnerabilities. In 2016, in order to expand its business, "Contrast Security" hired Alan Naumann, former CEO of the 41st Parameter, who now helps detect Internet fraud, as executive director.
Lior Div, Yossi Naar and Jonathan Stream-Amit met in the Israeli army. Being engaged in cyber security in the military, the programmers came up with "Cybereason" - a cloud platform that constantly monitors and responds to threats. The company was founded in Israel in 2012, and a year later moved to Boston.
As a student at Loyola Marymount University, Jason Wilk, now 34, was always in short supply with credit cards. An avid Reddit user, he had often seen complaints about the fees banks charge for overdrafts. Thus, in 2016, he launched the startup "DAVE". The application tracks users' expenses and alerts them when the balance on the cards is close to zero. In April 2017, DAVE became the "app of the day" in the AppStore. In just two years, it has been downloaded almost 10 million times.
Divvy provides businesses with free budgeting, fraud prevention and cost management tools. It offers Mastercard cards and charges commissions from banks when they pay for purchases. Alex Bean and Blake Murray have managed to attract over 3,000 corporate clients, including WordPress, Evernote and Qualtrics.
"Duolingo" is one of the most popular language learning and translation platforms in the world. It is used by over 28 million people a month. Most use the free version of the app. The CEO of Duolingo was a professor of computer science. Before starting a company in Pittsburgh, Louis von Ahn sold two inventions to Google, one of which you surely know of – "reCAPTCHA". Luis von Ahn is an immigrant from Guatemala. He claims that his knowledge of English has fundamentally changed his life and that’s why he now offers free training to all those who want to learn the language.

How I Know NEO is Gonna Have a Phenomenal 2018

If you have been around the digital currency space for more than a few months, you know that January/February is always a slow time for growth. Bears are out all over the space. Do you know what other industry is like that? Car sales.
In the car business, which I worked in for years, companies expected poor sales in January and February, due to poor weather and people having punched themselves out in December, taking advantage of the year-end closeout deals.
Let's look at an example in the car industry. Let's look at last year, January and February, for the Nissan Rogue sales in the US.
The Nissan Rogue, last January, outsold it's January 2016 sales numbers by over 45%! In February, it did even better, up over 53% for the month. Anyone who has been in the car business knows if you are crushing it in the deepest months of winter, you are gonna have one fantastic year.
So how did Nissan Rogue do last year? It was the #2 best-selling crossover in America in 2017, passing the redesigned Honda CRV, essentially the Ethereum of the crossover class, selling over 400,000 units.
I see NEO as this year's Ethereum, or Nissan Rogue. The facts back me up. Bitcoin, so far this month, is down over 20%. Altcoin competitors like QTum is down over 35%. NEO started the year trading at $75 USD and is now at around $135, a rise of 80%, in a down market. And this is about 2X the growth of Ethereum in January.
My point is the metrics forecast 2018 being another dazzling year for our hero, NEO.
Hodl, my friends. NEO is a true winner, in 2018, and beyond.

The BetTronLive platform uses two currencies — TRX and RAKE. Both tokens have the TRC-20 format and the RAKE token is a registered name. To further drive the value of the RAKE token, only 100,000,000 tokens will be minted, and this number will never be increased.

RAKE tokens can be mined by playing certain games on the BetTronLive platform and by watching video ads before the live dealer games begin.
